Join our 7-night Liveaboard UW photo dive trip on the Sundari Voyadge, Sep 23 - Sep 29, 2026!
Diving in Komodo National Park is an unforgettable experience, known for its dramatic underwater landscapes and powerful currents that attract an incredible diversity of marine life. The nutrient-rich waters create thrilling drift dives over colorful reefs, pinnacles, and seamounts, making Komodo one of the most exciting dive destinations in the world. With proper guiding, these dynamic conditions reward divers with vibrant coral gardens and constant action throughout every dive.
What you can see in late September
By the end of September, Komodo is at its best. Water visibility is typically excellent, and cooler temperatures bring an abundance of life. Divers can expect to see manta rays regularly, along with reef sharks, turtles, giant trevallies, and massive schools of fish. Macro lovers will also enjoy spotting nudibranchs, frogfish, and other critters, while the healthy reefs are bursting with color—making this period ideal for both wide-angle photography and close-up encounters.
About the liveaboard - The Seaisee
Sundari, meaning “beautiful” in Sanskrit, is a newly built phinisi designed for safe and comfortable dive and snorkel trips in the strong currents of Komodo National Park—one of the world’s richest marine ecosystems. Built in the traditional style with modern comforts, she hosts up to 12 divers (or 16 non-divers), with small dive groups of just four guests per guide for a more personal and secure experience.
Featuring eight cozy cabins, a dedicated dive deck, spacious communal areas, and full safety equipment, Sundari offers a high-quality liveaboard experience in Komodo. Crafted by master boat builders from Bira and operated with an experienced local dive instructor from Labuan Bajo, she blends Indonesian heritage, deep local knowledge, and world-class diving into one authentic journey.
Meet Your Photography Trip Leader: Tiani Dun
Tiani Dun, an Australian underwater photographer and marine biologist (MS, James Cook University), will be your expert guide throughout the trip. She will lead a full photography workshop and provide personalized feedback through photo review sessions, ensuring individualized attention for photographers of all levels.
Tiani's passion for marine life began during her studies, but she quickly realized she preferred being behind the camera and underwater rather than in an office. As a PADI instructor, she has worked across Malaysia, Fiji, Thailand, and Australia, capturing the beauty of the ocean and educating others. When not diving, she mentors students, writes for ocean conservation initiatives, and lectures on marine biology.
Her specialty is macro photography, with a deep love for nudibranchs—her favorite conversation topic! Always up for fun, you’ll often find her practicing bubble rings on safety stops or snapping selfies with fellow divers. Tiani’s enthusiasm for underwater photography and conservation makes this trip an incredible learning experience, blending creativity, science, and adventure.
