Hidden in the Eastern Caribbean, Dominica is one of the few places on Earth where wild sperm whales live year-round. This expedition offers a rare chance to step into their world, not from a boat, but in the water, sharing space with these extraordinary animals in a respectful and natural way.
We will be in the water with Whale Whisperer Expeditions, one of the pioneers of whale watching and swimming with whales in Dominica.
Over the course of the week, we’ll head out daily with expert guides and local trackers who understand the whales’ movements and behavior. Our approach is patient and intentional, creating the conditions for truly meaningful encounters. When the moment aligns, you’ll enter the water quietly and experience something very few people on the planet ever do, being in the presence of a wild sperm whale.

With over 20 years of diving experience, Ryan has honed his skills beneath the waves, specializing in big animal photography that showcases the awe-inspiring creatures of the ocean.
As a shark enthusiast, Ryan’s fascination with these magnificent predators drives his work. He believes that every photograph tells a story and strives to convey the majesty of sharks and other marine life through his lens.
In addition to his photography, Ryan works as an ocean safari guide and scuba instructor, sharing his extensive knowledge of the local area with fellow diving enthusiasts.
